Bear Naked™ Wood LLC started in South Lyon, Michigan, in the Fall of 2020 – right from the house. Using a shed, garage, and other space throughout our home. For years, our family used white birch to create home decor around the house. While people started to learn of our wood-working ideas, wedding rentals also became popular. Next, the idea of Christmas decor and small succulents were created for kicks! Then, more people were requesting larger things like tables, chairs, countertops, and lamps … Bear Naked Wood LLC was born!
Bear Naked™ Wood LLC is family owned and operated. Our northern Michigan property has been in the family since the early 1960s when it was originally known for homegrown raspberries and strawberries. As the farm slowed in business, mother nature planted her seeds and the White Birch Forest began to grow on its own.
Over the past 20 to 30 years, the rustic furniture and home decor hobby evolved. In the fall of 2020, the full-time business finally became a reality and by spring of 2021, Mike now hand-builds many custom wood products for both indoor and outdoor use. In addition to our custom Birch products, we also have a sawmill and wood kiln for our own cutting and drying. Countless hardwood trees in our forest also allows us to make many custom live edge wood products, from tables to bed frames and much, much more.
